Child and Adolescent Psychiatry<br /> Our Focal Points

The Department for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Psychotherapy and Psychosomatic Medicine offers sophisticated treatments for all kinds of mental illnesses during childhood and adolescence. Particular importance is being attached to the therapy of eating disorders and trauma consequential disorders. On the therapy ward Teen Spirit Island,  adolescents suffering from dependence diseases such as drug addictions, but as well media addictions (Internet  and computer addiction) are being treated additionally. Nationwide, already in 2010 Teen Spirit has established the first inpatient places. The treatment is provided according to a multimodal approach, which integrates all essential therapeutic directions.

We perceive the symptomatology of our young patients as the expression of an individual conflict resolution attempt. On the basis of a growing therapeutic relationship, we try to develop healthier solutions and strategies out of the crisis together with our patients and their parents. A resources- and solution-oriented approach with the active participation of the parents and the social environment is particularly important for us.

The close cooperation of the therapeutic and healthcare departments enables a holistic understanding of our patient’s special requirements. In addition to individual, family and group therapy, our concepts include creative-therapeutic, kinesitherapeutic and sociotherapeutic approaches.

Our department is divided into the following fields:

  • Institutional outpatients' department
  • Adolescents ward
